This fantastic cottage, situated just 3 miles from Porth Neigwl Beach, is the perfect romantic bolthole for two. Sleeping you both in a fantastic king-size bedroom with views out to the garden through a stunning arched window, this property is a wonderful place to forget about life’s stresses and truly relax. Spend long summer evenings out on the terrace, dining alfresco and soaking up the views of the beautiful Welsh countryside.

The property, which sits at the end of a private drive, embraces contemporary open-plan living. The triple-aspect open-plan living area has bi-fold doors opening out to the terrace that flood the space with light, offering a bright and airy place to enjoy a spot of breakfast at the table before heading out for the day. However, draw the curtains and blinds in the evening, turn on the lamps and it turns into a cosy haven; snuggle up on the sofa with a good book or watch some TV. Upstairs, unwind with a good soak in the free-standing bath in the bathroom - just watch your head in the eaves!

When you can tear yourself away from the cottage, head off to Abersoch Harbour Beach (3.5 miles) and maybe even try your hand at surfing. If history’s more your thing, the National Trust’s stately home and garden Plas yn Rhiw is only 3 miles away, while the ruins of Criccieth Castle (16.5 miles) are well worth a visit. And if you’re ready for some hiking, try the 7.5-mile circular walk that starts from Porth Neigwl car park and takes you up Mynydd Cilan for fine views over the sandy bay.

The cottage had been beautifully renovated and was in pristine condition. It made a fabulous home away from home. Fully equipped and nicely decorated, everything was open, modern and clean. The local area is fabulous - miles of coastline, great walks nearby, easily accessible countryside and beaches. April was for me by far the best time to visit; able to take advantage of some good spring weather and avoiding peak season traffic. Hide

Very nice, cosy cottage in a fabulous secluded location, surrounded by fields and abundant in wildlife. Squirrel, woodpecker and multiple other birds on the feeders with pheasants squawking all around. We even heard our first cuckoo of the year on Thursday morning which I think means we will be back next year! The private parking space in AbersoRead morech was very useful and would, I imagine, be even more useful during the busy summer season. The large garden is delightful and well tended. We highly recommend this lovely cottage. Hide
