This stylish house combines character with modern comforts and offers spectacular views overlooking the sea and Criccieth Castle. With flexible space for six guests plus two canine companions, it’s a great base for days at the seaside, exploring Welsh castles and interesting towns, or going on long hikes in Snowdonia’s mountains.

You’ll truly know you’re on holiday when you’re gathered around the wood burner or sat on the sunny patio of this comfortable, contemporary home. The spacious lounge also boasts a Smart TV with Sky, underfloor heating and windows overlooking Cardigan Bay - the perfect spot for catching up with a movie, playing games or daydreaming while gazing at the views. The sleek and beautifully fitted kitchen/diner features a granite-topped island with bar stools for dining and a sofa for lounging while chatting with the cook. On this floor there’s also a luxurious, king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, while upstairs you’ll find two further bedrooms, both super-king-size (or twin on request) and with superb sea views, sharing a fabulous shower room. Step through the glazed doors in the kitchen and you can enjoy the wonderful rural scenery from the huge slate terraced and lawned area, perfect for alfresco meals and drinks.

The friendly seaside town of Criccieth is less than a mile from the property, and has shops, restaurants and sheltered, sand-and-shingle beach. Venture onto the coastal path for sparkling views out to sea and potential sightings of dolphins and porpoises, or head to Portmeirion, 8 miles, for its enchanting, Italian-style architecture and sub-tropical gardens. Nine miles to the east lies the Snowdonia National Park, while the Llyn Peninsula is directly to your west, with its variety of beautiful beaches, bays, clifftop walks and heritage sites.

Lovely location - nice and private with great views while close to Criccieth village and Porthmadog for the supermarket. The interior was spacious and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We went for a few days down-time and it was excellent for that but it would also be a great base to explore the coast with good road access.
