A traditional stone cottage nestled in a leafy corner of a 75-acre estate near the sleepy seaside village of Llanbedrog on the Llyn Peninsula. This peaceful country retreat is a wonderful base for families or friends holidaying with a couple of waggy-tailed companions in tow. Admire the colourful beach huts and wade through the gentle waves at Llanbedrog Beach (2 miles), before gathering for a grilled BBQ feast on the secluded patio.

This charming property is brimming with nostalgic elegance boasting dark wood beams, antique furniture, and coordinated soft furnishings. Step through the iron gate and crunch along the gravel path to the inviting cottage entrance. Venturing beneath the vaulted ceiling, sink onto the plump sofas and indulge in a spot of afternoon tea. As the evening draws in, slide out the antique-style chairs, raise a glass of bubbly, and settle in for a celebratory supper with your nearest and dearest. Rustle up dessert in the inviting country kitchen with rich wooden cabinets or shake up a round of post-dinner drinks. Rest up in the three well-presented bedrooms, consisting of a double, a bunk room, and a single. Completing this property is a bright family bathroom. Catch some sun from the rear patio or grab the leads and venture through the groomed gardens and lush woodland of the Wern Fawr Manor Farm Estate.

Feel the salt spray during a waterfront walk on the gentle shelving beach of Porth Neigwl (6 miles) or peruse the weekly Wednesday market in the coastal village of Pwllheli (5.5 miles). We had an excellent five nights staying at this property. There was a really warm welcome from Helen when we arrived (and nothing seemed too much trouble to her), and the starter pack was most helpful. The cottage is in a beautiful location, with a lovely, large, walled (shared) garden and accessible woodland nearby for early morning or evening doRead moreg walks. The sight and sound of ducks, geese, guineafowl and horses add to the charm. Inside, it is welcoming and cosy, and we have rarely come across a holiday property that is so well equipped. If we were to return to this area for a holiday, we would definitely aim to stay here again. Hide
