This conversion of a miner’s house makes the perfect base for a traditional family holiday. You’ll be situated in the north-west of Wales in a rural area close to the sea, with access to charming local villages and lots of things to keep everyone busy. It’s the perfect place to reconnect with your kids, spend time with your partner, and make memories.

The reverse-level cottage is surrounded by a garden which flows into nearby farmland. It’s enclosed with bushes and barbed wire, so supervision may be required. While your dog and children explore and play on the grass, get the BBQ going for a delicious summer dinner. Alternatively, head inside and up the stairs to enjoy the open-plan living space which combines a kitchen, dining area, lounge, and conservatory, so you can spend time with everyone, even if different activities are occurring. You’ll find plenty of wooden floors and matching furniture for sturdy, practical charm. If you return from adventures feeling a little windswept, the space can be made extra warm and cosy with the wood burner. Also on the first floor is one of the bedrooms, a cosy single. On the ground floor, you’ll find the family bathroom and the two remaining bedrooms, both comfortable and nicely furnished.

You’ll be situated with beaches on three sides and plenty of opportunities for paddling, swimming and water sports. Avid surfers should head to Hell’s Mouth, just under a mile away, for some of the best waves in the UK, or hang ten on Porth Neigwl Beach, which is also less than a mile from the property. In the other direction is Abersoch, a coastal village with places to drink, eat and catch boats to view wildlife on the nearby islands. For an educational trip, pack everyone up and head to the historic Criccieth Castle, 17 miles away, to learn about the Welsh kings and military strongholds. While you’re there, head to Porthmadog to explore local shops and grab fresh and delicious fish and chips.

The cottage was absolutely perfect. Every evening, we sat facing the fields, watching the world go by it was so peaceful and relaxing. I had been a little apprehensive about the roads and walking into Abersoch, but they were quiet and safe, even with a dog and a pram. The cottage itself is beautifully kept and had everything we needed for a comforRead moretable stay. If youre bringing a dog, I highly recommend visiting Hells Mouth beach its just a 5-minute drive away, and we often had the beach almost entirely to ourselves, with miles of sand to explore. The nearby farm shop is also worth a visit, and its now a fully licensed bar, which was a lovely surprise. I honestly couldnt speak highly enough of this cottage it was perfect in every way. Hide

A beautiful spot in between Porth Neigwl and Abersoch. Walks from the cottage are lovely albeit the lane can get busy at pub time! Watch out for fast cars! The cottage has a great upstairs, two larger bedrooms and one tiny one. It is warm and easy to be in. Decor a little dated so it depends if you mind that. Lovely place - extremely clean. The views are amazing and we spent most evenings just looking out of the window. Great location - handy for lots of beaches and a short ( hilly) walk to a very nice pub. There is a farm shop very close by - what more could you want?

Ideally situated in a nice quiet spot. Pleasant walk to the beach both ways. It was perfect for us, the views were lovely with the lounge being upstairs and the dog enjoyed the large garden.
