The cottage is in an idyllic hamlet on the Llyn Peninsula, surrounded by breathtaking coastal scenery. Sleeping four guests, it makes a great base for couples and small families looking to get away from it all. You’ll be just 3 miles from the coast, where you can join the stunning Wales Coast Path to explore the hidden beaches and coves that are dotted along the Llyn coastline. After a long walk, return to your cosy cottage to unwind by the roaring wood burner.
The detached cottage is full of character, with original features, vibrant soft furnishings, and cute accessories. Enter into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which boasts an impressive vaulted ceiling and a warming wood burner set in an inglenook fireplace. After a long walk, gather around the dining table for a tasty supper or stretch out on the comfortable sofa to watch the Smart TV. A stylish kitchen is tucked underneath the wooden staircase. Two bedrooms – a double and a single – are on the ground floor, along with a utility room and bathroom. The final single bedroom is upstairs in the eaves and features fabulous exposed beams (just watch out for the restricted head height in some areas). Outside, an enclosed garden envelops the property, with a large lawn and a gravelled patio for outdoor dining in spectacular coastal surroundings.
The picturesque National Trust Porthor Beach (3.5 miles) is a must for the itinerary. As well as the jaw-dropping views, you can also listen to the intriguing ‘whistling sand’ – it’s one of only two beaches in Europe where this phenomenon occurs. At the very tip of the peninsula is Aberdaron (4 miles), where you’ll find several eateries, along with local village shops. To the north is Nefyn (9 miles), with its famous headland golf course and fascinating maritime museum.
