Plan a break to the idyllic Llyn Peninsula and lap up glorious coastal and countryside views from the comfort of this characterful farmhouse. Settled above the village of Aberdaron, beaches, local seafood, stunning walks and historic sites can all be enjoyed from the doorstep. This cottage, sleeping eight, has a homely farmhouse feel throughout with wooden beamed ceilings, oak flooring, exposed stone walls and pretty antique furnishings.
Cook up a storm in the country kitchen complete with Aga, wooden worktops and a pretty dresser. The open-plan lounge/dining area helps the group stay together whilst some plan the day’s adventure around the table and others catch up with a good book. On chillier nights, light the fire and let the dogs stretch out and snooze whilst you watch some TV. Relax in the stylish conservatory to the front of the house which has nice views of the garden and the little birds that come to visit. Upstairs, pick from a king-size room with an en-suite bathroom, a double room, a twin room, and a bunk room with full-size bunks. The family bathroom and separate shower room give plenty of space for the whole group. A totally unique twist has to be the luxury Russian Banya, which is a sauna room, so remember your swimsuits! Soak up the sunshine from the charming little patio area where there is a picnic bench. Or take a book and spread out on the large lawn to the side of the house amongst pretty trees and farmland views, both secure spaces for children and dogs to relax and play.
Bardsey Island can be reached by a boat trip from Aberdaron (1 mile) and can make for a wonderful day of wildlife spotting. Porthor Beach (1.5 miles) is picturesque with its sandy shore and ‘whistling sands’ if you fancy a bucket-and-spade day out.
