Property code: OC-FL044

Set on the grounds of the West Manor Estate, this converted coach house offers a well-appointed retreat in North Wales perfect for families and groups of friends travelling with a furry companion. Learn of 13th Century military escapades as you venture through the craggy hilltop fortress of Criccieth Castle (3.5 miles), before indulging in an al fresco summer spread perched on the leafy patio.

This traditional property features a considered interior with clean lines, sunny soft furnishings, and antique-style furniture pieces. Unravel outdoor layers at the door before stepping into the light-flooded kitchen/diner. Chop, stir, and simmer in the glossy kitchen with a well-earned drink in hand. Adorn the long oak table with a tempting feast before popping a bottle of bubbly and whiling away the evening. Venture to the utility room to raid the extra fridge/freezer space for a sweet treat or throw any muddy outdoor gear in the washer. Retire to the lounge and sink onto the striking red sofa or curl up on the armchairs to natter over a brew. Ascend the staircase to find three inviting bedrooms, consisting of a bright double, a cosy twin, and an airy single. Fuel up with fresh coffee and warm pastries on the patio before enjoying a gentle saunter through the 15 acres of lush lawn and bustling woodland.

Peer into rockpools and wade through the shallow waters of Black Rock Sands (4.5 miles) overlooking the hazy mountain ranges beyond before sampling local ales and nibbles at the quirky brewery in Porthmadog (3 miles). Explore the delights of the Snowdonia National Park with an afternoon amble through the breath-taking landscape of Llyn Tecwyn Isaf (7 miles).

The cottage was really lovely, everything we were expecting and more. Marie-Ann and Paul are the perfect hosts, so passionate about what they do and this shows throughout, including the generous welcome pack. A personal message from them the day before we arrived was a special touch. The location perfect with lots of freedom to explore the grounds Read moreof the Manor, (our little dog loved it) quiet and full of wildlife, woodland, streams and plants. Booking with Original Cottages was faultless, we were kept informed at every stage of our trip and we will definitely use them again in the future and hope to return to The Bothy too. Hide
